BROCKHAMPTON Remove Ameer Vann From Group

BROCKHAMPTON Remove Ameer Vann From Group

Just last week the Listen Out lineup dropped and included fan favourite rap collective BROCKHAMPTON. Known best for their single 'SWEET', the group were feeling anything but when they removed member Ameer Vann from the collective after allegations of sexual assault.

On May 12, Rhett Rowan tweeted about BROCKHAMPTON member Ameer Vann, calling him "emotionally manipulative and mentally abusive" and accused him of "abusing women" and having sexual relations with a minor. Consequentially, Vann has been kicked out of the group, confirmed by the collective via Twitter.

Vann was a founding member of BROCKHAMPTON, active since 2015. Following the allegations against him, Vann responded on Twitter saying "In response to the claims of emotional and sexual abuse: although my behaviour as been selfish, childish, and unkind, I have never criminally harmed anyone or disrespected their boundaries. I have never had relations with a minor or violated anybody’s consent.”

Kevin Abstract, leader of BROCKHAMPTON, talked about the allegations via Instagram Live. He confirmed that their highly anticipated upcoming album 'PUPPY; will be delayed but also mentioned that a new single may be released in the next month. Abstract said that "I don’t agree with anything Ameer has admitted to … he’s been getting help over the past year. I shoulda said something. I shouldn’t have been quiet for so long.”
For now, it seems the collective will carry out their scheduled performances for Listen Out in Australia.
