Soulja Boy Charged
Soulja Boy has been charged with possession of an assault weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm following his arrest in December, 2016, TMZ reports.
In 2014, the rapper took a plea deal after being arrested while carrying a loaded weapon, landing him on probation. He then violated his probation last year for having a gun in his home.
The L.A. County D.A. has since charged him with possession of an assault weapon and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Not only that, he was also charged with a misdemeanour for receiving stolen property because the gun in question was reportedly stolen from a police vehicle.
The assault weapon charge is for a Mini Draco AR-15 which is illegal for anyone to possess in California. Soulja Boy could be facing up to four years in prison if convicted.
In a recent track called 'Hit 'Em With The Draco', Soulja Boy references the Draco and fires shots at 50 Cent and Chris Brown. He has also been appearing in the news for the recently confirmed celebrity boxing match with Chris Brown.
Soulja Boy has pled not guilty and will appear in court again next month.
