Culture Kings in July
Culture Kings had an insane July in 2018, with music, sport and streetwear Kings of our game. We had a killer month with NFS Taxback (which is still going) and some insane drops that represent the best time of the year for style - winter. Let's check out what went down at CK during July.
Music

This month saw annual Australian music festival Splendour in the Grass go down, and we sent a special informant out there to report. Read their review here.
We also recapped the best Splendour style for both the ladies and gents.
Nicki Minaj and Tekashi69 also dropped the banger 'Fefe', R.Kelly released a 19-minute song discussing his public issues, Lil Baby remixed Drake's 'In My Feelings' while the OG version broke streaming records, Fat Joe, Dre and Chris Brown dropped a new track and A$AP Rocky lay some new tunes on us. Tyler, the Creator also dropped some new tracks.
In music news Diplo is getting his own documentary, Justin Timberlake announced he might collab with Drake, Khalid dropped a 90s video for 'OTW', Cardi B broke a Billboard record, we reviewed Drake's 'Scorpion', fans were speculating if XXXTentacion is still alive, Trippie Redd dropped the tracklist for his upcoming album, Pusha T gave a tell-all interview and Young Thug and Lil Uzi Vert dropped a really trippy MV.
In music this week it was announced that Rick & Morty is getting its own soundtrack, we ranked our top 20 Kendrick tracks, Jay Rock, Jeremih & Ty Dolla $ign, Buddy & Khalid and Juice WRLD & Lil Uzi Vert all released bangers, it was revealed that XXXTentacion signed a $10M album deal before his death, we ranked our top Lil Dicky songs, Post Malone said he only gets face tattoos to piss off his mother and we served up our hitlist for Splendour in the Grass.
In Drake news, he fired shots at Kanye in a diss rap, 'Scorpion' has been labelled as his 8th consecutive number one project and is speculated to retain its position.
Wiz Khalifa's 'Rolling Papers 2' dropped, Ty Dolla $ign and 24hrs dropped two new bangers, Azealia Banks cancelled her upcoming album 'Fantasea II', Curren$y dropped two new tracks, we discussed the 2018 MTV VMA nominees, Drake now has more number ones than any other rapper, Bas teased a collab with J.Cole, Future's 'Beastmode 2' debuted at number 3 and Rihanna may be getting a dancehall album.
Joji & BlocBoy JB dropped a summer banger, Chance the Rapper released 4 songs, Migos, Future and Young Thug laid a remix on us of 'Drip', Birdman announced 'Cash Money West', and Tory Lanez & Rich the Kid dropped 'Talk to Me'.
Also this month, Lil Dicky performed in Brisbane.
News
This month, Stormi (Kylie Jenner's baby) owns $22k worth of shoes, Will Smith gave a rare interview and talked Kanye, Drake and Meek Mill and G-Eazy and Halsey broke up. Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin got engaged, Tinashe is reportedly stalking new couple Ben Simmons and Kendall Jenner, Drake is reportedly getting a new record deal, Cardi B & Offset welcomed their baby girl named Kulture and a second suspect in XXXTentation's murder was arrested.
In news this week, Tekashi69 was kidnapped and robbed, and then spoke out about it amidst claims it was a setup. Pusha T got married, Floyd Mayweather and 50 Cent rekindled their beef, Tyler, the Creator revealed a secret 'Flower Boy' Instagram account, DJ Khaled announced a new track with Bieber, Chance and Quavo, Lamar Odom was involved in a shooting and Kendrick Lamar is set to make his acting debut.

Sport
In Sport news, France of course won the World Cup and Tim Cahill retired from international football. In NFL, the LA Rams have extended Brandin Cooks' contract. Devin Booker signed a $158M extension, Cristiano Ronaldo signed to Juventus from Real Madrid, Lakers GM Rob Pelinka said the Lakers are built to support LeBron and ex-NFL player Brandon Browner has been charged with attempted murder.
Channing Frye returned to the Cleveland Cavs, Kawhi Leonard was traded to the Toronto Raptors and Carmelo Anthony will be a free agent.
Paul George explained why he didn't choose the Lakers and copped a lot of heat, Australia and the Philippines had a huge brawl during a basketball game, England progressed to the quarterfinals in the FIFA world cup,
Free Agency was in full swing with LeBron signing with the LA Lakers and a heap of other players following suit. Tyreke Evans accepted a deal with the Pacers and the Spurs wanted the entire Lakers core for Kawhi. Dwyane Wade was offered a tonne of money to play in China next season and Kawhi Leonard will part ways with Jordan Brand.
